“Ronk!” Xander called, realizing that he sounded as strange as this Rainbow-Barfing Unicorn with the very limited vocabulary.

“RONK!” Ronk said again. He jumped out of the car’s frame and galloped over to Xander.

Xander got to his feet just in time for Ronk to rub against his leg. Ronk looked like a cat greeting its owner.

“What happened here?” asked Xander.

“RONK,” Ronk said, shaking his head “yes.”

“Where are the others?” asked Xander.

“RONK,” repeated Ronk in the same tone of voice.

“Did someone take them?” Xander asked. “How did you get away?”

“RONK.”

“Was it Russell DeVon? That weird guy in the fancy suit?”

“RONK.”

“I have no idea what you’re trying to tell me,” said Xander.

“RONK.”

This was getting Xander absolutely nowhere. He pet Ronk’s mangy mane. He instantly regretted this decision, however. Ronk could shower five times a day and would still manage to be absolutely filthy.

Xander wiped his rather sticky hand on his jeans. As he did, he noticed that there was something stuck to his palm.
